C is for Christmas and Cute

At 19 months old, Ruby was primed and ready to enjoy Christmas to the fullest this year. She loved the Christmas cookies and the turkey and the tree and the presents and the wrapping paper. Let's be honest though... it was the wrapping paper that scored the home run :)

Enjoying some time at the toy park.

Ruby graciously hosted her neighborhood friends for a cookie decorating party over the holidays. I commended her on the cute set-up! Move over Martha...

We hmmed and hawwwed over where to place the Christmas tree this year. Do we stick it in our usual spot in the living room where she can pull ornaments off one by one, attempt to climb the tree and splash water in the tree stand every day? mmmmm. NO. We opted for the sun room which we can close off with french doors. Essentially, this meant that every morning after Ruby woke up she peered through those doors and whined "Tree! Tree! Tree!" until we let her in to see it.

Cheesy smile for Daddy.

Picking out a Christmas tree together.

After a day at the beach (we spent Christmas in Florida) Ruby's first ice cream cone went over veeeeery well!

Family shot at the beach.

Eating her words for dinner. This girl is "adorkable" as my niece Teija says. She looooves her some flashcards.

Swimming in the Gulf with Daddy.

Christmas PJs

All dressed up for Christmas! Ruby loved her new shoes.

Santa let us borrow his sleigh for a minute...

Ruby's latest obsession is magazines. Magazines of any type. Oprah, Parenting, People, Bathroom Redesign... she's not picky. In this photo above she (and Daddy) are reading In Touch magazine. Quality reading indeed. As you can tell by her expression she is clearly horrified by the disrespect that Kim Kardashian has shown for the institution of marriage. Jeez.

Happy New Year!!!
