A week of "firsts"

It's been an exciting week in the McVeigh household! Ruby went to her first day (morning) of "school." She'll be going two mornings a week and it's so cool to think of her being so independent and making her own buddies. Given that her parents liked school so much (it's quite a handy way to delay real life!) we hope Ruby loves school too.
Here she is right before heading off to school. Hip hip hooray!
The other first involved Ruby visiting the hair salon! We weren't looking for anything drastic but we wanted to avoid the ratty "mullet-esque" style that was emerging, so we opted for a lil' trim. Ruby wasn't shy about it at all. She just marched right in, sidled up to the race car, and sat patiently while she got her hair cut.

What a pro!

First blow-dry :)
The final first of the week involved Ruby "launching" herself out of her crib during a temper tantrum. (no pics of this one!). Luckily she was aok but we're hoping she promptly forgets how she did that because we are NOT ready for a newborn AND the "big-girl-bed-transition" at the same time.
After such a busy week of firsts, we decided it was time to get out on a date night, so here we are after having enjoyed a lovely romantic dinner and a stop at the ice cream parlor. I must say I felt like quite the cliche walking/waddling into the ice-cream parlor at 9pm for a double scoop...but I wasn't about to let that stop me!
